Dishes

So, I've been thinking a lot about dishes. I have always hated doing them and once when I was working at MaxMara I was talking to my manager and she was saying that she really enjoyed doing dishes. So I asked, "What do you like about doing dishes?" --trying to see it from a different perspective in order to change mine. She said, "I don't know, I guess I just like playing in water." Hmm, that was interesting...so I thought about that the next time I was doing dishes and nope. No difference.

Then I was reading somewhere recently about what to do when you feel like eating but are not hungry - and the person wrote to do some mindless cleaning like dishes or laundry or whatever because it keeps your hands busy and then you forget about the food (hopefully!). Well, I never thought about dishes being mindless before - while I was doing them I would always just try to hurry hurry hurry and get them done as fast as possible which would lead me to feel anxious and stressed out. Well today I was wondering where I should start with house cleaning--or if I even wanted to start ;) and decided that until I figured out what I was going to do I would do some mindless dishes and Voila! It worked! My dishes were done and it wasn't that hard at all~and in fact...it was quite enjoyable! Yay! I'm hoping that this mindset is one that stays!

Updates!

Hello All! I can't believe it's already 2010! So, here are some updates:

So... it's been a while!!!
Well, let's see - we are still in Napa and Brandon is going to school (except they are not offering him any classes he needs this quarter and only one next quarter, so he is working at the moment), and will be finishing school in April 2011 - which is REALLY exciting!!!

Lincoln is on the verge of walking - and on the verge of getting tons of new teeth - he currently still only has two, but not for long!!!

My brother and sister in law and two nieces have moved to Sacramento from San Diego - YAY! So we get to see them as often as we can -

(Link hanging out with his cousins at Nut Tree)

We hung out with them for Halloween:

(Madelyn, Ashlyn, and Lincoln)

Brandon's cousin got married in the Sacramento Temple, so some family came to town and stayed with us:

(Brandon, Lincoln & Derek)

We went down to So. Cal for Thanksgiving - and had some Cunningham family photos taken at the beach:

(Whole Cunnigham Family)

(Brandon, Link & Corinne)

Lincoln had his first birthday!!

Christmas was very fun - Brandon and I had a really nice quiet Christmas Eve here where we watched Elf - very funny!

Then on Christmas Day we got to talk to Thomas (my brother who is on a mission) in a big conference call with the whole family and then we went over to some friends of ours and had a delicious Christmas dinner! On Christmas night later my parents came with my bro and sis Robert and Jenny and we got to hang out with them for a couple of days before we went to the cabin for New Year's!

(Link and Madelyn playing with Laura)

Oh, and my brother Robert got Engaged!!! Yay! to Rich-Allana Hoff (Rikki) she is great and will be a fabulous addition to the family, I'm VERY excited - still no word on the date though.....
(Rich-Allana Hoff - my future sister-in-law!)

(Robert and Rikki - what a cute couple!)

We went to Sacramento last Saturday to Mike and Erin's and took care of eachother's kids while we went to the temple - and that was very cool!

Anyway - I just wanted to update everyone on how we are all doing and what is going on - hope all is well with you!
